Distributing a device or software application that supports PlayReady

Agreements you must execute:
  • Microsoft PlayReady Master Agreement (download sample)
  • Microsoft PlayReady Final Product License (download sample)

After they are executed, you may receive:
  • PlayReady Documentation Pack
  • PlayReady Certificate Generation Kit
  • Production Device Certificate (SL2000 and SL3000)
Distribution rights:
  • Object code: Licensees may only distribute OBJECT code implementations of PlayReady to other Intermediate Product licensees and/or Final Product licensees.
  • Final Product: Licensees may distribute PlayReady Final Products to end users.
Scenarios supported:
  • Distribute PlayReady final products to end customers who subscribe to a video service.
  • Distribute a 3rd party brand product to end customers (company set top box but branded for a different company’s video service.
  • Receive object from another PlayReady licensee company to use and distribute a product that supports PlayReady.
