PlayReady server

Developing server applications

To develop a PlayReady server application on your own servers (virtual or on premises). You will need to take a direct license agreement (if you don’t want to use Azure Media Services for PlayReady or a PlayReady Partner).

Agreement you must execute:
  • Microsoft PlayReady Server Agreement (download sample)

No Microsoft fees.
After it is executed, you may receive:
  • PlayReady Documentation Pack
  • PlayReady Server Software Development Kit
  • PlayReady Server Certificates
Distribution rights:
  • Source code: Licensees may only distribute SOURCE code implementations of PlayReady to other Intermediate Product licensees.
  • Object Code: Licensees may distribute OBJECT code implementations of PlayReady to other Intermediate Product licensees and/or Final Product licensees.
